A TLD (top-level domain) is a domain extension – the part of a domain name which appears after the last dot. For example, the TLD for webzsol.com is .com. The domain name system (DNS) is organised in a hierarchy going from right to left, whereby the highest level is the root (the empty domain which technically comes after the top-level domain), followed by the top-level domain, and then by subsequent domains.
